The Nikon N90s and RB67 are extremely fine, affordable SLR cameras. Good for the beginner.

DSLR camera for a new photography student?

Question by The Bounds Family: DSLR camera for a new photography student?
I’m starting school for photography and I am supposed to have a “Pro Series Digital SLR Camera – Must have an interchangeable lens system, 6 megapixel minimum, RAW file setting.” What is a reliable camera to purchase while staying within a mid-ranged sized budget. I plan on buying a used camera if I can, hopefully used under $ 800? Any recommendations?
A family member did say they would give me a Canon Rebel Xti with 4 lenses: a sigma 75-300mm, a
sigma dc 18-50mm, a canon 28-80mm, then another sigma 18-50mm F3.5-5.6. is an Xti a good camera?

Answer by NickP
On this forum the most popular are Canon and Nikon with the Canon Rebels available in three models starting at about $ 600.00. These are new! I just purchased a Pentax Kx DSLR at about $ 500.00, and I love it.

For used best bet is
